
Héctor Iván García-Maldonado, MPH

Héctor Iván García-Maldonado has spent more than 25 years inside Puerto Rico's health system. He led quality, statistics and utilization review for the government's Medicaid managed care program, which covered 1.3 million people, and spent eight years negotiating coverage and contracts with payers for a national cancer diagnostics laboratory.
He has held roles at the CDC, a health plan and the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. Since 2019 he has directed the federally funded network that brings health IT, interoperability, quality improvement and data analytics to the community health centers of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
He founded STATHESIS in 2018 for his own clients and has built it into a practice for agencies, health plans, providers and programs across the United States and Latin America. He works in English and Spanish.
